Evenlode Water Quality

The River Evenlode flows through our parish and is one of our most precious natural assets. We are monitoring its health and researching sustainable practices to protect its future.

Why the Evenlode matters

The Evenlode runs through the heart of our parish, supporting fish, invertebrates, water voles, kingfishers and the meadow habitats along its banks. Like many lowland rivers, it is under pressure from agricultural runoff, sewage discharges and changing rainfall patterns.

What we are doing

We are building a picture of the river's health over time so that local people, farmers and regulators can see where to focus efforts. This is an early-stage project — if you would like to help with sampling, surveys or data, please get in touch.

Research & resources

Understanding the link between land management and water health is central to protecting the Evenlode catchment.

Get involved

We are looking for volunteers to help with riverbank surveys, water-quality sampling and recording sightings along the Evenlode.
