How to use this map

Click the layers icon Layers icon (top-left) to toggle what is shown. Each layer represents a different type of biodiversity record:

  • Notable Trees — veteran, ancient, and locally important trees. Click a marker to see a photograph and notes.
  • First Butterfly Sightings — the first recorded sighting of each butterfly species in the parish each year.
  • Big Butterfly Count — locations and results from the annual UK-wide count, contributed by Chadlington recorders.
  • Hedgerows & Habitats — surveyed hedgerow segments and other habitat features of note.

Tap the fullscreen icon (top-right) for a larger view, or open the map directly in Google Maps using the icon next to the title.

Spotted something worth adding?

The map is curated by our volunteers to keep records accurate. If you've seen a notable tree, butterfly, or other wildlife you'd like us to add, please get in touch — we'll verify it and pop it on the map.

Include a photo if you can, and a location (your phone's photo GPS tags, a What3Words reference, or a grid reference all work).
